University of Michigan Hosts First Unifying FOP and Traumatic HO Symposium

Bringing together research and clinical experts in FOP and trauma-induced HO

On September 14, 2018, Dr. Ben Levi, University of Michigan (UMICH), hosted the first Unifying FOP and Traumatic HO Symposium, bringing together research and clinical experts in FOP and trauma-induced heterotopic ossification (HO).

The symposium was a place to share what researchers know about HO in both patient groups to advance basic and translational research. A patient panel included Ian Brodie, Natalie McGuire, Sienna and Rory Otto, and Nancy Sando, representing the FOP community, alongside two representatives from the traumatic HO community. Thank you to Dr. Levi for spearheading this important research initiative!
